The Devon Meadows Cricket Club today announced Joel Wylie as its senior coach for season 2019/20.

Wylie, 31, comes to the club with a wealth of coaching experience. A Cricket Australia level 2 accredited coach, Wylie spent the last three seasons at Tyabb Cricket Club in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association in addition to spending eight seasons coaching the South East Country Sharks representative team. The former Victoria under 19s representative has an equally impressive playing record having spent 10 seasons at Victoria Premier Cricket club Frankston Peninsula, playing 47 first XI games and assuming several leadership roles.

“I’m very excited for a new challenge,” Wylie said.

“The level of professionalism I have seen so far from Devon Meadows off the field is fantastic, and I’m very impressed with the potential I see in the playing group. I’m looking forward to that translating into on field success.”

Devon Meadows president Mick Floyd was equally excited to have Wylie on board.

“We’re really excited for what Joel can bring to the club,” he said.

“Joel is a highly regarded, well organised coach with an excellent record of getting the best out of senior and junior players alike. Just as importantly, he is an excellent person and we looking forward to welcoming him, his wife Kelsy and their three kids into the Devon Meadows family.”

Devon Meadows pre-season training dates will be published soon. Senior and junior players looking to play cricket this summer are encouraged to contact the club on 0409 426 562 or email mickfloyd64@gmail.com.
